
The great Russian poet A.S.Pushkin” was sent into exile to Moldova for a period of 3 years. On September 21, 1820 he reached the capital of Moldova, Chisinau, and settled down in the house of General Inzov (today a museum). During these 3 years the poet wrote the following poems: "The Gypsies", "The Black Shawl", "To Ovid", "The faithful Greek woman does not cry", the first episode of the famous poem “Eugene Onegin”, etc., which are universally valued. While in Chisinau Pushkin was often present among the elite of our cultural world and the classic writers of Romanian literature: C.Stamati, C. Negruzzi, Donici Family, etc.
Pushkin traveled a lot through Moldova. His favourite place to visit was the house of Zamfir-Ralli Arbore in Dolna Village in Nisporeni Codri.
