Road and rail linksCurrently 17 land border crossing points of the Republic of Moldova (International Customs) are functioning, including:Costesti – Stinca (Romania) Sculeni – Sculeni (Romania) Leuseni– Albita (Romania) Cahul – Oancea (Romania) Palanca – Maiachi (Ukraine) Tudora – Starocazacie (Ukraine) Cosauti – Iampoli (Ukraine) Briceni – Rososani (Ukraine) Giurgiulesti - Galati (Romania) Giurgiulesti – Reni (Ukraine) Mirnoe – Tabachi (Ukraine) Cuciurgan – Pervomaiscoe (Ukraine) Otaci – Moghilev Podolsc (Ukraine) Ocnita - Sochireani (Ukraine) Ungheni – Cristesti (Romania) Larga - Helminet (Ukraine) Criva – Mamaliga (Ukraine) Road transport There are about 180 international bus routes (more than 500 departures) that provide connections between the Republic of Moldova and cities in Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Poland and Germany – basically through main bus stations - Chisinau and Balti. Thus, the bus station in Chisinau provides regular services to/from main cities in the Russian Federation (Moscow), Byelorussia (Minsk), Ukraine (Kiev, Odessa, Nicolaev, Cernauti, Herson, Ivano-Frankovsk, Krivoi Rog, etc), Romania (Bucharest, Iasi, Brasov, Cluj, Constanta), Turkey (Istanbul), Bulgaria (Sofia), from Czech Republic (Prague) and Germany (Berlin). Railway transport International passenger railway transportation is ensured mainly via the railway station in Chisinau – there are direct and transit trips to/from the main cities of the Russian Federation (Moscow, St.-Peterburg, Saratov), Ukraine (Kiev, Odessa, Ivano-Frankovsk, Simferopol, Reni), Byelorussia (Minsk), Romania (Bucharest, Constanta) and Bulgaria (Sofia, Varna, Burgas). Connections with such cities as Moscow, Bucharest, Odessa and Reni is provided daily. |
