Chisinau – Capriana – Hincu

Description:

This tourist route passes in particular through the large forest «Codru» where some especially beautiful monasteries of Moldova are located, namely «Capriana» and «Hincu».

«Capriana» monastery is located in surprising hollow, being surrounded from three parties with wood hills. Of a big interest gratifies not only the beauty place which surrounds the monastery, but also his architecture. Before it, has beautifully settled down an alley of pyramidal poplars together with chestnuts, a pond with a dam through «Isnovat» river.

In a monastery, as well as in its vicinities, are testified three churches: «The sleeping of God's Mother», «Saint George» and «Saint Nicolae» - and a number of auxiliary constructions: pavilions, artesian wells, built in national style.

Continuing the route through Moldavian «Codru», we reach «Hincu» convent which is located near a deep valley on a small hill. A such relief does not meet more at one Bassarabian monastery. Special interest is represented by two churches from stone: the summer church with «Saint Paraschiva» temple and winter church with «The sleeping of God's Mother» temple.
