The route:Chisinau – Tipova – Saharna

Round-trip distance – 250 km Description: This tourist route includes the visit of two known and important cave monasteries of Moldova, namely
“Tipova” and “Saharna”, both having an indisputable value for our country.
First cave monastery named
«Tipova» is on the right Dnestr river coast, near to village with the same name (Tipova, reg. Rezina). The monastery is constructed at top of a steep rock, opening an amazing panorama of the river Dnestr, situated on 100 m above water level. “Tipova” cave monastery is ideally entered in surrounding nature, being in a calcareous stone. Of a special interest is “The sleeping of the God’s Mother” church - spaciously enough, in a basically style, having the hemispherical arch, imitating the sky.
Finishing the visiting of the first monastery, the route follows to the second, namely,
«Saharna» cave monastery, located in 85 km from Chisinau city, near to Saharna village, in gorge where the small Saharna river is poured in Dnestr river. Here impress picturesque places where are vineyards, gardens and woods, Dnestr river, falls and steep rocks. From “Grimidon” rock, which is the highest place of a route, the road turns off on the right and reaches up to the lap of «Saharna» monastery complex, with " The Saint Trinity » temple and «Saharna» cave monastery.
